5A's Visit to the Festival of Bright Ideas
Recount of Excursion to Elizibeth Collage by Anees and Fergus
On the 15th of August 2025 our class (5A) went to Elizibeth College for a Science Week excursion. We left school at 10:30am and we got on the bus for a ten-minute ride. When we got there two college students showed us to the Elizibeth Collage gym. We were split up into four groups and rotated around different activities. These activities were jumping height and length, speed and agility, strength and endurance, throwing and accuracy. The strongest throw was a tie between Tiaki and Anees (78kph), the highest jump was also a tie between Eleanor and Remi (46cm), the Fastest time for the speed test was Ellis (3.43seconds), the longest wall sit/endurance was Fergus (7minutes and 5seconds), the most amount of sit ups in 1 minute was Lars (49). After this we got back on the bus at 12:20pm for another 10-minute bus ride back to school, we got back at 12:30pm. We all enjoyed this because we learned about sports science and how to train different parts of our bodies. Thank you Jen Mcqueen and Catherine Robinson for being our parent help!
