This year we Year 5 and Year 4 boys entered a team in the Launceston Cup. Surprisingly, we were the only team in the school to do so. Two years ago, we came 2nd. This year, however, we knew we had a good team, and we were excited.

On Saturday, our first game was against a strong South Hobart Football Club team, but we played well and beat them 7–1 and we were pumped. Our second game against Riverside turned out to be our hardest game, as with 4 seconds left, we scored to win 2–1 and we went fanatic.

We kept the energy as our team went to Du Cane Brewery for some pizza. The climbing wall was also fun, and it was a great first day.

On Sunday, we won our first game 12–0 against Devonport and with that we were in the final. So, at 3:30 pm we played against Ulverstone in the final. We were all nervous, happy and excited. As the whistle blew, the game started very even but soon, they got the first goal. As we clicked in though, we got goal after goal and ended up winning 9–1.

We then went to the medal ceremony, got our medals, congratulated the other team and drove home from a successful weekend with our friends.

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday one of our players, Jack, is going to a big tournament in the Gold Coast for soccer and we wish him good luck.
