Welcome to South Hobart Primary School

Our school is located adjacent to the Hobart Rivulet which provides a beautiful backdrop to our physical learning environment.

South Hobart currently has an enrolment of 470 students. Their learning is supported by classroom teachers, specialist teachers (art, music, physical education, performing arts), a learning support teacher, literacy specialists, teacher assistants, admin and ancillary staff. Leadership is provided by the Principal, Assistant Principal and three Advanced Skills teachers.

Community is extremely important at South Hobart and formally begins with the School Association Committee, which is made up of eight parent representatives, two staff representatives and the principal. The School Association organise many community events throughout the year, along with participating in policy and planning discussions as required.

Families are encouraged to participate in community events, volunteer as parent help in the classroom or on excursions and generally be partners in their child’s education.

All of our staff, in all roles, strive every day to provide rich learning opportunities to enable students to attain optimum learning and personal development.
